![]() This game has already gotten extremely fast. And the idea of imcreasing exp rates is horrible, I'm sorry. If you take out grinding imo you're essentially removing over half the game. I also know of many cb nubs who hate the grind and stick to pvm/pk forever with no skills at all. I know of many people who like runescape because they enjoy the grind. Slayer offers a very wide variety of tasks and such while skilling is doing the same thing hundreds of thousands of times. Imo that is the difference between cb nubs and skillers, skillers are the ones that like the gronding while cb nubs do not. All skilling is basically grinding outside of combat skills/slayer. Personally, the way I see it is that grinding is at the core of the game. more endgame content would really help there, though dungeoneering and the GWD are still pretty fun to do. The problem with it is there's not much to do once you reach those levels other than quest(and even then questing wouldn't be much of a challenge). You're enduring boredom to satisfy an addiction. It's hard to stay dedicated because if you really think about it, it's silly. Grinding is a fundamental part of RuneScape or any MMO for that matter. While it will work, it isn't the best plan. What you're proposing here, from what I've gathered, is destroying RuneScape will get rid of bots. Maybe the decline would be more gradual, like a bonus XP weekend except every day. Perhaps only one hour a day would be a little extreme. Otherwise there wouldn't be as much botting or RWT now would there? and that is the opinion of a LOT of people. And boy have I wasted time and regretted it. It can take WEEKS of constant playing for one level. and just for the hell of it, if you want to see a game with worse grinding than Runescape, look at Perfect World. So there's something they could do.Īnother thing would be dynamically increasing quest monsters' power for those that decide to get high levels before questing. It does seem like there would be less to do at that point. Runescape has been adding more high level content, but it hasn't been much. Though another thing wow does have is a large endgame, from what I hear, so people with maxed levels still have a lot to do. (the only reason I don't play it really is because I don't give a crap about the lore right now and most of its quests are what we'd call slayer assignments.) It still has it, and it still has bots, but these are both much lower than in Runescape. But from what I've seen and understand, WoW has significantly less of a grind. I really wish I played WoW so I could compare the two more easily, so I'd like it if somebody could come in and make the comparison. Just reducing it to more reasonable levels. Yeah, I don't mean completely eliminating the grind. What about you? How do you think training could change? Do you think the grind is a problem at all? and that's all I've got.Īgain, I'm clueless as to how this can actually happen, as I haven't played any other MMOs for reference. also, make effigies more common and usable by lower levels. I really wouldn't know how to go about that though. I do think simply increasing xp would make the game rather dull, so there would need to be changes to how skills are trained, not just an increase in xp. If it weren't for the fact that I cared about the lore(something too many players don't seem to) I probably wouldn't be playing now because of it. Me, I mainly want to quest, but the reqs can sometimes involve serious grinding. ![]() They just want to pk and do all the fun stuff. Runescape is so utterly grindy and people don't want to do it. It doesn't really take any sort of skill or effort, just free time and willingness to waste hours doing repetitive tasks. I understand people take pride in their stats, and the time it took to get them, but let's be honest here. I highly doubt Blizzard is any better than Jagex at bot fighting, which in and of itself is utterly futile. I haven't played WoW, or any other MMO, but from what I understand it has much less of a grind, as well as having less bots running around. I really think the botting problem can be traced back to the biggest issue with Runescape, which is grinding. This is more or less my opinion rather than a suggestion so. I was going to put this in Suggestions but I really have no solid ideas on how to fix it.
